"The file I'm looking for does not appear!"

First of all, read the "how to" guide to see how to enter a query properly.

If you still have trouble, consult this guide:

EboBar is full of entries, just not the one you're looking for. EboBar is not completely filled, there's just a few entries (or even none at all), but the one you want isn't there.
There are just too many entries, and you have to narrow down the list a bit.

The simplest way to do this is to enter more letters of the file you're looking for (once again, check the "how to" guide to see more about this).

You might also enlarge EboBar by dragging its corners, thus showing more entries. This is however not what you should do. Entering some more letters is more convenient.

You might be annoyed about how many letters you have to type to find the file you were looking for, but don't worry - EboBar learns. Next time, it's going to be way easier to find that one file.

The file you're looking for is obviously not in the database. Consider the following:

- EboBar does not scan your entire hard disk, only the most important directories (like your Start Menu). Check the configuration menu to see how to add more directories.

- EboBar filters out files. From the entries of the Start Menu, for example, EboBar weeds out everything that's not an application or anything that looks like an uninstaller. You won't be able to find the accompanying read-me files of your applications. Once again, the configuration menu allows you to modify this behavior. It's called the "scan definition".

- Is your file pretty new? EboBar does not know what's on your hard disk right now, only at the time it created its database. To ensure EboBar is up-to-date, either make it re-create the database automatically, manually or enable file monitoring.
