Once upon a time...

I had this site, entirely in German, for my friends and family in Germland so they can see what I'm up to over here.

One of the coolest features was the picture database that I also used here in the US to quickly access my pictures and show them to people here.

And they saw it was good...

Yeah, people loved the picture database. And selected other parts I had on the page. So I started making it accessible to more people, translating some parts into English.

And the balance turned...

And now I almost take more care of the English parts than the Krautish ones. Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense, given that this entire page here is mostly for my close friends and relatives so they know what's going on. But don't ask for reasons. That's simply the way it happened.

Coming back to the purpose...

But still, if you're not a close friend, you probably won't find many things here you want to see. Well, maybe one of the blogs has something regular people might find interesting, but that's about it.

That doesn't explain "Classic" and stuff though...

If this page is for mostly for friends, why did I make pages like "Classic"? Simply put, for the heck of it. Call it a hommage to old webpages from 1996 where a homepage was simply "about me", "cool links", "three useless pages about something I do". Call it an attempt to make this page "complete", whatever that might mean. Jeesh, I don't need a reason for everything, do I?
